Summary - Kathryn and Chakotay have a little talk.
Rating - PG-13
Category - Janeway/Chakotay Romance
Author's Notes - Huge thanks and lots of biccies for Coral for betaing for me.  This was going to be my 25 word story offering - following a challenge on the JanewayChakotay mailing list - but it got too long so it was going to be a drabble...  then it got too long for that, so that idea was shot to hell and this was the result; short, sweet and sappy.  Enjoy :)

"Kathryn, I've loved you ever since I met you and..." Chakotay trailed off and sighed.  That wasn't good enough.  He started to pace, thinking about the best way to phrase what he wanted to say.

He suddenly paused in the middle of the room.  "Kathryn, I love you.  Would you do me the honour of being my wife?"  Chakotay shook his head and continued to pace.  That wasn't right either.

"Kathryn, I love you and....  Kathryn, you are my....  Kathryn Janeway, I love you.  I always have and I always will.  I love more which each breath I take.  You are my first thought when I wake, and the last thing I see before I close my eyes to sleep.  You are my life, you are my dreams; you are my everything.  Kathryn, will you marry me?"

"Shall I save you some time and just answer your question?" a familiar husky voice reached his ears.  She sounded slightly amused but her love was clearly broadcast in her gentle tone.

Chakotay whirled around to see Kathryn casually leaning against the doorframe, a soft smile gracing her features.

He stared at her in surprise for a moment, eyes wide.  Eventually he moistened his lips and then he spoke.  "Go right ahead."

Kathryn's smile grew wider, happy tears sparkling in her crystal blue eyes.  "Yes."

The End
